Reiko’s Kitchen cooking class - Welcome to the kitchen of Reiko Katayama; with a deep-rooted connection to her childhood, Reiko has been honing her cooking skills in the traditional Japanese way for as long as she can remember.
Join her on a journey of discovery as she guides you through techniques for fermentation, organic foods, foraging and even macrobiotics. Her recipes are not only for health but have a spiritual connection to the land and seasons of the year.
Utena retreat is blessed in its location amongst orange groves and small farms from which the purest ingredients are sourced.
Whether you are a seasoned chef or simply a curious food enthusiast, you can enjoy her teachings deep in tradition and ceremony -authentic to the core.
In the UK she has catered for British royalty and top executives of resident Japanese companies. She has also run successful hospitality businesses in Prague, Czech Republic, and rural Wales, UK, selling home-produced fermented foods.
